Yes. Since TAA Language Programs are approved and accredited by the Turkish Ministry of Education, enrollment may enable students to obtain a one-year student visa and residency permit in Turkey.

Visa and Residency Permit Procedures Via TAD- Turkish Language School

Students who want to stay in Turkey for three months or longer must apply for a Student Visa before they come to Turkey.

TAA Language Programs are approved and accredited by the Turkish Ministry of Education. Enrollment in the TAA-Language School for the Turkish programs enables the students to get a one-year student visa and residency permit in Turkey.

Language Course Registration Procedures for Foreign Students 

According to new regulations by the Turkish Ministry of National Education, the following documents are necessary to register for TAA Language Courses.

  • Photocopy of passport
  • Receipt of course fee payment*

The General Turkish Classes offered by the Turkish-American Association are designed according to the “Common European Framework Language Standards”.

A1 LEVEL
LISTENING READING SPEAKING WRITING
Trainee can understand questions, instructions, basic greetings, routine phrases, basic words and phrases about numbers, prices, times and dates when people speak clearly with simple language. Trainee can pick out familiar words and understand simple phrases used to give basic personal details and basic information written in short and simple texts such as brochures, short messages and questionnaires. Trainee can ask simple questions, use basic expressions, indicate numbers, quantities, prices, date and time, shop for daily needs, describe daily routines, give basic personal information and express whether s/he understands a phrase or not. Trainee can fill in a simple questionnaire and write simple phrases, sentences and greetings.
A2 LEVEL
LISTENING READING SPEAKING WRITING
Trainee can understand simple phrases, directions, commands, essential information in recorded messages, identify the main point of TV news items and films, follow simple directions and identify the main idea of a discussion when people speak slowly and clearly. Trainee can understand short simple personal letters, standard writing terms used in forms, public notices and brochures, and identify key information in newspaper and magazine reports such as place, time and people. Trainee can ask and answer simple questions, manage routine tasks like buying tickets, ordering food and arranging meetings, and talk about self, family, hobbies, education, work and past activities. Trainee can write texts about daily life with simple sentences, simple letters and structures, describe events in simple sentences and connect ideas using basic connectors.
B1 LEVEL
LISTENING READING SPEAKING WRITING
Trainee can follow everyday conversation, catch the main ideas of radio programmes, films and TV programmes, and understand simple technical information such as operating instructions for everyday equipment. Trainee can understand simple texts related to personal interest, guess unknown words in familiar texts, identify main points, understand feelings in personal letters and skim for relevant information in news summaries. Trainee can maintain a conversation or discussion, handle most situations during travel, express feelings, narrate a story, talk about dreams, hopes and goals, and briefly express opinions, plans and events. Trainee can write a simple text including personal views and opinions, respond to announcements, ask for detailed information, write a CV and correspond via email or personal letters.
B2 LEVEL
LISTENING READING SPEAKING WRITING
Trainee can understand standard spoken language, follow clearly structured lectures, and understand plays and most films in standard language. Trainee can scan a variety of texts quickly, understand most words, read and understand articles, news items and reports, and use a dictionary when necessary outside the professional field. Trainee can participate actively in long discussions, carry out a prepared interview, check and confirm information, and take part in conversations both as a speaker and a listener. Trainee can write clear and detailed reports, compositions, personal letters, long stories, short reviews of a film or a book, and summarize articles.
C1 LEVEL
LISTENING READING SPEAKING WRITING
Trainee can follow most lectures, discussions and fast conversations where the target language is used by native speakers, and can follow films employing considerable idiomatic usage. Trainee can understand detailed texts, correspondence with dictionary support when needed, literary texts and complex reports. Trainee can participate in conversation and express himself or herself fluently and effectively on academic and professional topics, using the target language flexibly and effectively. Trainee can write a CV, apply for a job, produce texts with a high degree of grammatical correctness, summarize information from different sources and describe experiences and events in detail.
C2 LEVEL
LISTENING READING SPEAKING WRITING
Trainee can follow lectures, presentations and seminars with no difficulty and understand any kind of spoken language including regional use. Trainee can understand every kind of written text, literary and non-literary writing, technical manuals and comment on almost every kind of written text. Trainee can take part in all conversations and discussions with native speakers. Trainee can write articles, projects, critical reviews of cultural events, clear well-structured complex formal letters, and express ideas consciously using irony and witty remarks.
